At Jai Lao Foundation, presently there are no paid employees, only the excellent help of volunteers who give unselfishly of themselves to the Jai Lao cause. 

~ Letter from our President ~

“Jai Lao” means Lao Heart. To have a Lao Heart is to Give From the Heart. The Jai Lao Foundation strongly believes in the purity of giving and serving the poor with all of our heart and soul. We have been abundantly blessed in our own lives and feel a strong desire and passion to give back to our Lao brothers and sisters who still stand in need back in Laos.  Jai Lao Board of Directors (BoD) are comprised of working and stay at homes moms, sisters, and daughters whose hearts are connected as one for a cause to help and serve the less fortunate in Laos while staying true to our roots.  We serve on a volunteer basis and receive no monetary compensation save it be the intrinsic value we receive in knowing we may have made a difference in a child's life.  

 

Over 95% of money raised and donated dollars go directly towards the projects of building schools in Laos and programs of offering scholarships and financial aid to Lao students.   Jai Lao is a small and developing non-profit so Volunteers, including BoD Volunteers, go on missions out of their own expense that includes their own airfare, transportation, accommodation, and food incurred on the mission. BoD volunteers also travel with their own funds to various cities to promote and fundraise for Jai Lao. It is our pride and joy to donate our time, talent and money to the cause that roots and grounds us to who we are and where we came from.  

 

Jai Lao has been asked why we do what we do.  We will echo the answer of a great humanitarian Dr. Luc Janssens of the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation, "Why not?  If I don't do it, will you?"  We hope to gain your love and support as we strive to help those in need who lacks the opportunities that we are afforded.
